marocThe last decade has seen great socio-economic transformations in Morocco, driven by the political momentum brought about by Mohamed VI: economic growth, social modernization, transformation of family ties (reform of the Family Code in 2003), and the privileged “advanced status” of Morocco with the European Union.

The Amadeus Institute, located at the heart of the Kingdom, Rabat, seeks to support Moroccan decision makers in their efforts and encourage a greater role for civil society representatives. The Institute is supportive of Mohamed VI’s projects, which drive the booming economic growth.

The Institute also seeks to critically analyze modernization policies and reforms undertaken by the political leaders of the country.

A number of questions are raised with regards to the fast paced transformations occurring in Morocco: the great inequalities between urban and rural areas, the promotion of a modern society, the stakes of new technologies, regional and international economic treaties, and environmental challenges. All these elements contribute to increasing Morocco’s power and extending its international sphere of influence.
